I LOVE BAY BREAD'S OATMEAL CHERRY COOKIES. I stop by regularly enough that the staff knows what I am there for. I have on occasion arrived too late and they are are sold out. Today, when I arrived they had several people standing in line and I could see there were no oatmeal cherry cookies left on the shelf so I just turned and walked out determined to get there earlier tomorrow. Before I could reach my parked car, one of staff stuck her head out the door and shouted that she had cookies for me. She just hadn't had time to get them on the shelf. Wow! you know you are at the right place when people care for customer's like that!

This place should rate higher on Google as a quick breakfast or lunch spot in downtown Traverse City. Friendly, family owned, freshly made baked goods, sandwiches and breads. So many beautiful and delicious options! Made fresh, daily. They do have a day-old bin you can grab from too! They serve salads, soups and sandwiches! Baked goods, pastries and bread. The smells outside will draw you inside! The selection of sandwiches is minimal - but really the perfect options for a quick meal. Get it to go and eat outside at a picnic table or at one of the few tables inside. Coffee is served from a help yourself carafe - which is great if you don't need a fancy coffee drink. For just $2, it's great!! Today I had the Egg & Cheese Sandwich on Sourdough and a coffee. $9 out the door! The Sandwich was yummy. Cheese was gooey and bread was soft with crispy eggs. The egg was slightly seasoned with salt and pepper. I love that I can run in, order and feel good about supporting a small, local business - all while receiving a delicious meal that's affordable. Best bakery with the nicest workers! I was SO HAPPY to find the gobbler sandwich here. I missed it so much since Mary’s Kitchen closed last year.

Bay Bread Company is now probably my favorite bakery in the TC area. I stopped by twice during my latest trip to the area, and the baked goods and sandwiches are delicious. They have lots of choices, and the staff was friendly. It’s a small, cozy place with limited seating, so you sadly can’t count on sitting there. I was lucky during my second visit and got a seat. The sandwich I tried was called the Sleepy Italian, and it was a great breakfast. The egg, cheese, and other toppings made for a decadent yet not too heavy meal. The pastries and buns were also excellent, and I highly recommend this bakery.
